General and Systemic Pathology and Clinical Medicine
We are seeking for applications for teaching faculty at the American University of Integrative Sciences (AUIS) at Barbados with discipline-specific expertise in the Pathophysiology and Introduction to Clinical Diagnosis in the setting of subject and/or system based curriculum. The position is available as full-time appointment.
The successful candidate(s) for MD program must have demonstrated interests/qualifications in pre-clinical medical education and research. Strong oral and written communication and effective interpersonal skills are essential. All candidates must possess a M.D. degree. M.D. candidates without specific training in their discipline of interest must have additional credentials related to advance scientific training in the field.
Experience and expertise with the design, delivery, and assessment/evaluation of course(s) at an LCME or regionally-accredited medical school and robust understanding of USMLE and NBME testing standards would be beneficial. Experience with innovative teaching methods including team-based teaching, problem- and case-based learning, interactive small and large group presentations, multimedia and online learning is essential.

MD or PhD degree or their equivalents (holders of both MD and PhD degrees are particularly encouraged to apply). Doctorates should be held in the areas of related field;
Demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in teaching within a US, Canadian or Caribbean graduate or medical curriculum setting.
Barbadian and CARICOM nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
Candidates with an interest in teaching Premedical Sciences courses are especially encouraged to apply.
Individuals who have experience teaching more than one subject or teaching system based curriculum are encouraged to apply.

Appointment and compensation:
Depending on teaching experience and qualifications, appointment shall be made at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level. Salary offered is commensurate with experience. An attractive benefits package including access private health insurance is also offered.
