Chikere Thomas is a holder of a Master of Counseling Psychology with distinctions, and a Bachelor of Social Work. Ms. Thomas has also continued her academic pursuits where she is presently a Doctorial Candidate. Her Ph.D. research focus is on psychological resilience to natural disasters.

Ms. Thomas renders her professional expertise as a Registered Counselling Psychologist. Much of her casework involves behavior modification, trauma treatment, clinical assessments, and substance misuse treatment. Her theoretical orientation is Eclectic Therapy, in which she utilizes varied theoretical frameworks throughout her practice. Some of these modalities are Person Cantered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Harm Reduction Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focus Brief Therapy. She is also an avid utilizer of non- traditional therapeutic modalities, such as Art and Psychodrama Therapy.

Through her training and work experiences, she has built capacity in multiculturalism, as she has worked with clients from diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
