The accelerated Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree | BMSc; is designed for the undergraduate student with an aptitude for the sciences and who plans to attend medical, dental, pharmacy school or to conduct biomedical research in graduate school and beyond.
This intense academic program aims to meet the needs of high caliber high school graduates or college students aiming to pursue a medical education, but who have taken few or none of the core science courses required for admission to medical school.
Our USMLE Step 1 course is a seven-week program designed to build on the fundamentals of basic sciences with the focus on high-yield organ-systems while also reflecting the recent changes outlined on the USMLE website.
“We specifically chose AUIS because of their long history of excellent clerkship opportunities. Many classmates have recently matched. AUIS single-handedly made it possible for us both to fulfill our dreams of becoming physicians without having to sacrifice our family.” (Both Jacob and Marsha passed Step I on their first attempts and achieved Residency Match on their first attempt. They received positions in the specialties they desired, at the same hospital.)
“USMLE Step 1 Preparation was in Atlanta, Ga. The instructors were knowledgeable and encouraging. The experience with standardized patients was a highlight for me and prepared me for exams in Clinical Skills. AUIS supported me throughout my educational journey and I’m happy to have Matched at the program that was my top choice.”
Charlton hails from the Southeastern US and attended a small university for his Bachelor’s degree. Among other benefits, AUIS’s small class-sizes, direct access to faculty and supportive environment led him and his brother to conclude that AUIS School of Medicine was the best place for them to gain the knowledge necessary to become a great physician.
Study your Clinical Sciences over five semesters (80 weeks) at affiliated hospitals and clinical facilities in the U.S. and Canada. Your clinical education at AUIS is divided into 48 weeks of core clerkships and 32 weeks of elective clinical rotations.
AUIS’s Clinical opportunities represent strong relationships we have held since the year 2001 when our very first class entered their third year of medical school. Because of this, we have direct partnerships with some hospitals and other medical facilities that we value and keep confidential. These locations are available to third-year students desiring Greenbook options and exposure to a residency program and fourth-year students on “audition electives” with a specific Residency Program.
