The American University of Integrative Sciences (AUIS) is a WHO-recognized four-year medical school, established in 1999 on the island of Sint Eustatius. It recently moved to Barbados with an enrollment of over 250 students and many graduates in residency and medical practice in the United States and Canada.

For our campus in Barbados, we seek to recruit full-time / part-time faculty to teach the following pre-medical  and Basic Sciences  subjects:

  1. Introduction to Biochemistry and Genetics
  2. Biochemistry and Genetics
  3. Pharmacology

Job requirements:

Applicants must:

·       Hold a Master’s, PhD and / or MD degree  (or equivalent) in a relevant area;

·       Be an effective teacher as evidenced by evaluation data, testimonials and other documentation; and

·       Evidence interest in innovative approaches to teaching.


Salaries comparable to International prevailing rates.

General and Systemic Pathology and Clinical Medicine

We are seeking for applications for teaching faculty at the American University of Integrative Sciences (AUIS) at Barbados with discipline-specific expertise in the Pathophysiology and Introduction to Clinical Diagnosis in the setting of the subject and/or system based curriculum. The position is available as a full-time appointment. The successful candidates for the MD program must have demonstrated interests/qualifications in pre-clinical medical education and research. Strong oral and written communication and effective interpersonal skills are essential. All candidates must possess an M.D. degree.

M.D. candidates without specific training in their discipline of interest must have additional credentials related to advance scientific training in the field. Experience and expertise with the design, delivery, and assessment/evaluation of course(s) at an LCME or regionally-accredited medical school and robust understanding of USMLE and NBME testing standards would be beneficial. Experience with innovative teaching methods including team-based teaching, problem- and case-based learning, interactive small and large group presentations, multimedia and online learning is essential.
